Mystery History for 2011

Trivia fans, does anyone out there have any details, recollections, photos, names, anecdotes about the days of the George Mendlovitz Store on Court St.?
A fan visited the Museum in December and they would really like to receive any input from readers, especially about the Mendlovitz family who owned the store, correlating the names such as George and Leonard
Mendlovitz. Was there more than one store? Any names or stories concerning the people who worked there in those days? A pair of shoes with that label and one of the many parade photographs are included with this question. Please call 830.372.0965 or email :

Welcome to December at the Museum!

Community Las Posadas
The journey of Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem will be reenacted Sunday Dec. 19 , beginning at 6 pm, City Hall 205 N. River.
Sponsored by St. James Catholic Church, St. Andrew's Episcopal, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the procession will be led by a mariachi band, and will be visiting various other buildings in downtown Seguin. A brief service and refreshments will conclude the event.

Leon Kubala at work in his color lab in his studio in downtown Seguin. The late photographer chronicled much of Seguin's past for many years and his studio has been recreated on the second floor of the Seguin Heritage Museum.
We'd like to welcome you to the Museum in December, we are decorated in the spirit of the Christmas Season and we have added new photos to our Permanent Collection on the website.
