Wood Sculptress to Debut New Exhibit

The Seguin Heritage Museum, 114 N. River St. will be hosting the debut of an exhibit of unique wood carving by Seguin's renowned sculptress Marika Bordes. The exhibit will open Oct. 16 beginning at 6 p.m.
Bordes is a talented artist in wood sculpting and along with her students' displays, the exhibit will be open daily at the museum from 1l a.m.-4 p.m M-F.

The center of the exhibit will be the 14'statue of "Wahir" carved and formed from a chinaberry tree, provided by John Schwarz of Seguin. The figure represents the central character in "Lord of the Rings" and will be available for viewing from two vantage points, the street floor, adjacent to the display windows facing east and a view from the second floor, as well.
The public is invited to this event at no cost. Refreshments will be provided and donations will be welcomed to help cover expenses. All donations are tax deductible.
